Ivory is as synonymous a colour to weddings as is white. This is a great colour tone for brides who find white too stark a colour. Ivory as part of the white colour palette tends to have a slight tint of yellow or cream to it making it a warmer colour against a lot of bride’s skin tones.
Some of you may remember the old wives tale that white is the only colour for a wedding dress as it is the colour for virgin brides, however in today’s world this is no longer of relevance to prospective brides. I remember myself, when I first told my mother when I found I was pregnant (prior to the wedding the following year), the first thing my mother said was oh no you can’t get married in white now! My mother was born in the 1930’s... but it gave both my friends and myself a good chuckle. I did actually choose to get married in ivory which I am sure made my mother very happy!
Ivory is a great colour to source the many wedding accessories any bride needs to find from ivory stationary, ivory wedding favours, flowers and cakes and also makes a great canvas to combine any other splashes of colour you wanted to include within this colour scheme.
